ABOUT  MT BAKER and DISTRICTS

Mt Barker in South Australia, has a mediteranian climate  and  is one of the larger towns situated in the very picturesque rolling hills of the Mt Lofty Ranges which surround the capital city and Adelaide CBD.  Other beautiful smaller townships contribute to this very scenic district, most of which began as farming districts in the early 1900's but have now been included in the 'urban sprawl'.
Majestic Red Gum eucalypts, complimented with smaller varieties and other native and exotic species of flora, grace the hills.
South Australia is known as the ‘Wine State’  and Mt Barker & Districts FF is situated within easy reach of several notable wine regions  e.g.   Barosssa, Southern Vales, Langhorne Creek, as well as wineries which are scattered through the hills areas.

We participate bi-annually in an international out-bound exchange then, alternate years, a domestic exchange is enjoyed.  Usually we receive 2 international inbound exchanges annually and possibly enjoy a domestic inbound as well.  Mt Barker can host up to 25 ambassadors per exchange.
The airport, train and bus stations are within easy access in our nearby capital city, Adelaide.  A chartered coach can be  hired  to transport visitors from their arrival point to Mt Barker, or alternatively, hosts may collect and  return ambassadors.
